Our attorneys Marcia Z. Gordon and Andrew J. Thomas presented a Los Angeles County Bar Association seminar on Shopping Center CC&Rs and Reciprocal Easement Agreements (REAs).
Ms. Gordon discussed drafting and negotiating CC&Rs and REAs, including a discussion of amendments to existing CC&Rs and REAs arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mr. Thomas presented an overview of the statutes, caselaw, and remedies involved in CC&R and REA litigation, including a discussion of practice pointers and strategy considerations.
The three-person panel included a Senior Vice President of Caruso Development (owner of The Grove and The Americana shopping centers in Los Angeles), who discussed the topic from the perspective of a shopping center developer. The program was attended (via Zoom) by approximately sixty attorneys.
